These are the layers that stay on the building. In an EIFS assembly they go on in sequence — barrier first, then foam, then base coat with embedded mesh, optional primer, and finish. EIFS steel screws, flat-crown staples, and spray foam adhesive are the three you'll reach for most.
Mechanical fasteners and adhesives attach foam board and accessories.
